In this page I will be discussing any and all events that happen in the manga, and possible some bits and pieces of the anime, too, since it is generally such a close adaptation of the manga. Read the manga first if you want to, or if you can not be bothered, just read my reviews/summaries.

This volume is truly just an introduction to the series. It is quite a good one at that, too. It sets up some of the main characters like Mr Kusuo Saiki himself, And who could forget Riki Nendou and Shun Kaido, the brothers for life. Teruhashi and Hairo also get set up a little which was fun to see. Saiki's parents got the same introduction as in the anime witht the dad being introduced as the most pathetic person in existence, and the mom an absolute sweetheart with a sadist side to her. The art style is quite simple, and it is kinda sad that I need to read a fan translation because the official creators did not see the need to make an english translation. Most of the scenes in this volume were one to one translated into the anime, and done quite well at that. The only part I did not remember was the guy that tried to off himself and then got saved by Saiki and Nendou on accident while they were having shenanigans (Chapter 8). That was quite the funny occurance.
